Model Horse Show
Saturday, January 30, 2010
For all youth 18 and under
Set-up 8:30-9:30
Show 9:30-12:30

Most horse loving youth, collect and play with model horses.
However, showing model horses takes this
hobby beyond viewing them simply as toys.
Showing model horses requires understanding of correct conformation and
anatomy for various breeds in order to select the best representative to
compete in halter classes. It requires
knowledge of proper tack and attire, movement, breeds and colors to create
performance scenes where the goal is to visualize the perfect horse doing a
specified action, freeze it in time and shrink it to model size. Imagination
and artistic skills are required for the fun division with classes testing
ability to create clothing, or personally customize a model through sculpting
and painting. In showing model horses,
there is a niche for every horse lover. We look forward to seeing your model horses
at this great event which is open for the first time to non-4-H horse loving
kids.
