Open Shows: Rules and Regulations
- The
Washington County Horse Council, its officers and members are not
responsible for any damage, injury or loss of property as a result of any
activities conducted in relationship to this Show.
- Proof
of current (Within past 12 months) negative Coggins required at
registration.
- No
alcoholic drinks allowed.
- Showmanship,
short stirrup, novice, green horse, and command & break classes are
open to both western and English riders
- Short
stirrup classes are limited to children 10 and under (walk/trot).
- Novice
classes will comprise beginning riders over 10 (walk/trot). Rule 15 applies
- Youth
classes are limited to individuals ages 16 and under
(walk/trot/canter).
- Adult
classes open to individuals ages 17 and over.
- Green
horse limited to horses with 2 years or less show experience
(walk/trot/canter)
- Trail
classes will be held outside the ring and the course must be completed
prior to the class designated in the schedule. No practice of trail
obstacles permitted the day of the show.
- All
individuals required to wear ASTM/SEI riding helmet.
- All
decisions of the judge are final.
- Classes
may be split or combined at the option of the show management.
- Walk
class may not cross enter into any other mounted classes.
- Walk/Trot
Class is for our most beginning riders.
No cross entering into classes requiring a canter/lope.
- Beginner
over fences limited to horses and/or riders not ready to compete in 2’
classes, no cross entering to 2’ classes.
- Gaited
classes open to any horse with a smooth gait other than a trot. Judged on manners and suitability as a
pleasure horse.
