Washington County Horse Council Equestrian Scholarship

The Washington County Horse Council is pleased to announce a $250 scholarship offering for 2008 and the establishment of a fund to eventually provide a fully endowed scholarship for future years. Individuals or businesses wishing to donate to this scholarship fund are encouraged to contact the Washington County Horse Council.

Eligibility:

  • Be an active member in good standing of a Washington County 4-H Club with an equestrian-related project.
  • Must have carried the Equestrian project a minimum of two years.
  • Be accepted at an accredited post-high school program fall of 2008

    Entrants will be judged on:

  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Service in their club and community
  • Assistance/teaching/support provided to younger 4-H members and others in the community in learning horsemanship skills.

    To Apply:

  • Fill out application
  • Submit most recent 4-H record book
  • Two letters of recommendation

    The winner of the scholarship will be selected by a committee from outside the county who are familiar with 4-H Equestrian Programs.

    Submit entry application with your record book by February 5, 2008 to the Washington County Extension Office
